Former National Security Advisor Susan Rice will examine America’s economic, political and security relations with China during CHINA Town Hall, an 80-city live discussion and Q&A on China and Sino-American relations that will include local speakers at venues across the country on October 24.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is coming for a state visit at the beginning of next week (April 28th) and will address a joint session of Congress. Asian World Experience will take place Saturday, April 4 at the OU-Tulsa Learning Center.  There is no cost to attend this interactive and educational fun-fair.  Activities will include kung fu, karaoke, Chinese yo-yo, tea ceremonies, and more.  Food vendors will be on site.  Click here for more information.

Confucius Institute Day

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Confucius Institute, we would like to invite the public to Zarrow Regional Library at 2224 W. 51st Street., Tulsa, OK. 74107. The event begins at 10 am and will last until 2 pm. Come out to watch Kungfu, Taichi, traditional song, and dance, fan dance, and Lion dance performances.

Also, participate in fun cultural activities like Chinese Lucky Knot tying, making dumplings, learning to play Chinese chess, Chinese calligraphy and painting, zodiac animal stamps and much more. We will also show the movie MULAN with popcorn! We will have both In the Raw and the 4 Ayes food trucks on site for lunch between 11 am and 1 pm.  


Chinese Language Programs:  One of our main responsibilities is to promote East Asian languages and cultures for students K-12.  We are looking for schools that are interested in starting or restarting a Chinese program in the state of Oklahoma.  We now have more and more teachers who are Chinese language certified in the state.  Please contact us at rexburnett@ou.edu for more information on how to get started!
