The Goal of the East Asia Institute is to promote Chinese, Japanese, South Korean, and Vietnamese cultures in every school in Oklahoma and in the community.  Provide opportunities for students to participate in events and educational activities that will increase their knowledge and appreciation of East Asian cultures.  Some of our initiatives include:

  • Chinese language after school programs
  • Chinese Business courses for companies
  • Professional development for K-12 teachers and principals
  • Sister school relationships with student and teacher exchange             


The East Asia Institute is housed at the University of Oklahoma Schusterman Center in Tulsa, OK. It works in conjunction with the Confucius Institute* at OU-Norman and the National Consortium for Teaching About Asia.

When: Wed., March 14th

Time: 12 pm – 1 pm

Where: OU-Tulsa - Innovations Commons (Main Building)

Learn about the benefits of doing Tai chi and the philosophy behind this martial arts

        Lunch is provided. Vegetarian option available. Limit 60 people

Master Xie studied at Beijing Sports University.

Professor Zhang is from OU’s partner school Beijing Normal University in China.
